Privacy Policy

Last updated 27 September 2026

1. Who we are and who this covers

Click Rate (ABN 96 101 265 575), trading as ClickRate, builds and runs websites for Australian trade businesses. Our address is 91 Woodview Ave, Lisarow NSW 2250, and you can reach us at hello@clickrate.com.au.

This policy explains how we handle personal information, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988. As a small business we could be exempt from that Act, but we have chosen to follow it. It covers four groups of people:

2. What we collect and how

We collect only what we need to build your site, run it and get your enquiries to you.

Who What we collect Where it comes from
Clients Contact name, business name, ABN, mobile, email, postal address, licence and insurance details you choose to show, your logo, photos and wording, and your payment history You, when you set up and go live; your ABN from the Australian Business Register
Prospects Business name, business phone, address, service area, website, and your public Google rating and review count Public listings such as Google, and anything you send us yourself
Enquirers Name, mobile, suburb, the job described, and any photo attached You, through the quote form on a client's site
Visitors Basic technical details such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed, and a ClickRate analytics cookie (see below) Your browser, through our hosting providers' standard logs

We never see or store full card numbers. Card payments are handled by Stripe.

Cookies and analytics. clickrate.com.au and the sites we host use a cookie set by ClickRate itself, to count visits and see how people use the sites. It is not used for advertising, and we do not share it with advertising networks. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, and the sites still work.

You do not have to give us your details. Without them, though, we cannot build your site or pass on an enquiry.

3. Why we use it

We use personal information to:

Writing the wording. We use automated tools, including an AI service, to draft site wording from business details. We send those tools business information, not enquirers' details.

Contacting businesses about ClickRate. We may email or call a trade business about a demo site we have built for it, using the contact details the business has published. We do not send marketing texts. Every email says it is from ClickRate and includes a way to opt out. If you opt out, we stop.

Enquirers. We use your details only to send your enquiry to the business you contacted. We do not market to you, and we do not sell your details. Once the business has your enquiry, how it uses your details is up to that business.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the providers that run parts of the service for us, and only what each one needs.

Provider What they do for us What they receive Where
Stripe Card payments and invoices Client name, email, billing details Australia and United States
Cloudflare Hosts the websites; stores our nightly backups Site content, enquiry form traffic, backup copies Global network; backups stored in the Oceania region
Mobile Message Sends enquiry texts Client mobile, and the enquiry sent to it Australia
Synergy Wholesale and the .au registry (auDA) Registers client domain names Registrant's business name, ABN, contact and postal details Australia
Anthropic AI service that drafts site wording Business details used to write the site United States
KnownHost Runs the ClickRate application and database All information in this policy United States (Atlanta)
Resend Sends enquiry copies and account emails Email addresses and message content United States

Enquiries go to the business they were sent to. We may also disclose information when the law requires it.

Some providers are overseas, mainly in the United States. We choose providers that protect information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.

5. How we store and protect it

We keep information in a password-protected database, reached only over encrypted connections. Only ClickRate can access it. Each night we back it up to Cloudflare, and we keep only the three most recent backups.

We keep information only as long as we need it:

Information How long we keep it
Client details and invoices While you are a client, then 5 years, as tax law requires
Client photos and wording While you are a client, then 30 days after you leave
Enquiries While the business is a client, then 12 months
Prospect details and demo sites Until you ask us to remove them, or 12 months without going live

If we become aware of a data breach that is likely to cause serious harm, we will tell the people affected and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

6. Your choices and rights

See or correct your information. Email hello@clickrate.com.au to ask what we hold about you, or to correct it. We will reply within 30 days. There is no charge.

Remove a demo site. If we have built a demo site for your business and you do not want it, tell us and we will take it down and delete your details.

Stop hearing from us. Use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email hello@clickrate.com.au.

Enquirers. To change or remove an enquiry you sent, contact the business you sent it to. You can also ask us, and we will help.

Complaints. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, email hello@clickrate.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. If you are still not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

7. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the service changes. The current version is always at clickrate.com.au/privacy, with the date it last changed. If a change affects clients, we will tell them by email first.
